Misty forest valley in Meghalaya

Day by day

The sequence below assumes arrival into Guwahati before midday.

  • Day 1 — Guwahati to Shillong, evening at leisure
  • Day 2 — Mawphlang sacred forest, then Sohra waterfalls and caves
  • Day 3 — Nongriat root bridge trek
  • Day 4 — Dawki and Shnongpdeng, riverside overnight
  • Day 5 — Mawlynnong village and return to Shillong
  • Day 6 — Drive back to Guwahati for departure

How to adapt it

With four days, drop Nongriat and keep Sohra plus Dawki. With eight, add a Nongriat overnight and a Jaintia hills day for caves and monoliths.
