Day by day
Day 1
Arrive Guwahati, drive to Shillong
Airport pickup and a scenic drive past Umiam lake. Evening free around Police Bazar.
Day 2
Shillong to Sohra
Mawphlang sacred forest en route, then canyon viewpoints, Nohkalikai Falls and a cave visit.
Day 3
Nongriat root bridge trek
Early start for the stepped descent to the double-decker root bridge, with time at the natural pools.
Day 4
Dawki and Shnongpdeng
Drive to the Umngot river for boating and kayaking, overnight in riverside tents or a guesthouse.
Day 5
Mawlynnong and Shillong
Village walk and single root bridge, then return to Shillong for the evening.
Day 6
Departure
Transfer to Guwahati airport with a stop for local produce if timings allow.

Can this itinerary be shortened?
Yes. A four-day version covers Shillong, Sohra and Dawki, leaving out the Nongriat overnight.
Is the trip suitable for children?
Everything except the Nongriat descent works well for families; we can substitute a shorter root bridge walk.
