Itinerary
Day 1: Cochin Arrival – Munnar
- Arrival in Cochin: Our representative will meet you at Cochin Airport or Railway Station.
- Transfer to Munnar: Enjoy a scenic drive to Munnar (130 km | 4.5 hours).
- Visit Cheeyapara & Vallara Waterfalls: Depending on the season, these beautiful waterfalls might be on your route.
- Tea Garden Visit: If open and of interest, explore a local tea garden.
Day 2: Munnar Sightseeing
- Mattupetty Dam: Explore this important hydroelectric project and a haven for local wildlife.
- Kundala Lake: Admire the picturesque landscape and Asia’s first Arch Dam.
- Eco Point: Enjoy the stunning views of the Nilgiri Hills.
- Top Station or Eravikulam National Park (Rajmala): Visit these scenic spots in the afternoon.
- Optional Visits: If time permits and you’re interested, consider Blossom Park and the Tea Museum.
Day 3: Munnar – Thekkady
- Drive to Thekkady: Head to Thekkady (110 km | 3.5 hours) after breakfast.
- Periyar National Park: Explore the park with optional activities such as boating or a Jeep Safari.
- Cultural Experiences: Optionally, enjoy Kathakali dance, Kalaripayattu (Martial Arts), or an elephant ride.
- Overnight Stay: Relax at your hotel in Thekkady.
Day 4: Thekkady – Houseboat
- Drive to Alleppey/Kumarakam: After breakfast, transfer to the houseboat (180 km | 5 hours).
- Houseboat Check-In: Arrive by 12:30 PM and embark on a backwater cruise.
- Evening Cruise: Enjoy the serene backwaters until 5:00 PM.
- Overnight on the Houseboat: Experience a unique stay on the water.
Day 5: Alleppey – Kovalam
- Transfer to Kovalam: Post-breakfast, drive to Kovalam (170 km | 5.5 hours).
- Visit Jatayu Park: A notable attraction on the way.
- Resort Check-In: Arrive by the afternoon and settle in.
- Kovalam Beach: Unwind and watch the sunset at Kovalam Beach.
Day 6: Kanyakumari Day Trip
- Drive to Kanyakumari: After breakfast, head to Kanyakumari (95 km | 2 hours).
- Sightseeing: Visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, Suchithram Temple, and Devi Kanyakumari Temple.
- Optional Boat Trip: Consider a boat trip to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial.
- Return to Kovalam: Head back to Kovalam in the evening for an overnight stay
Day 7: Trivandrum Departure
- Check-Out: Depart from Kovalam and proceed to Trivandrum.
- Sightseeing in Trivandrum: Visit Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Priyadarshini Planetarium, Napier Museum, and Sree Chitra Art Gallery.
- Shopping and Leisure: If time permits, enjoy some local shopping and sightseeing.
- Departure: Transfer to Cochin or Trivandrum Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
Other important information
CANCELLATION POLICY
- No refund shall be made with respect to the initial booking amount for any cancellations.
- Refunds for cancellations will be processed as per the following deduction guidelines:
- Up to 30 days prior to the departure date: 0% deduction
- Between 30 days to 15 days prior to departure: 60% deduction
- Less than 15 days of departure: No refund
- Booking amount is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Full payment of the trip cost must be made before the trip begins. Pending payments may lead to cancellation of the trip, and the booking amount will not be refundable.
- No refunds or discounts shall be made towards any inclusions not availed by the client. This includes voluntary or involuntary termination/departure from the tour, sickness, accidents, death of a family member, late arrival, or premature departure.
- Travelonama shall not be responsible for any delays or alterations in the program or indirectly incurred expenses due to natural hazards, accidents, machinery breakdowns, weather conditions, landslides, political closures, or untoward incidents.
- Cancellations will only be accepted via email. Phone calls or WhatsApp messages will not be considered. Additionally, the booking amount for all packages/trips is non-refundable.
- In cases of "force majeure" or situations beyond Travelonama's control after departure, refunds or compensation will not be provided.
- Participants dropping out during the trip will not receive any refund. They will also be responsible for additional expenses incurred for their retreat, based on actual costs.
- Participants can replace individuals in their bookings if the status is "Paid" and at least 12 days remain before the departure date. This does not apply to Volvo/Train/Flight transport bookings, which will be automatically canceled.
- Travelonama reserves the right to cancel any trip for any reason but will not cancel a tour before departure except for force majeure or unforeseen circumstances beyond its control.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The rates provided are valid only for the mentioned period and are applicable for twin sharing basis only.
- Children below 5 years are complimentary.
- Any changes in travel dates or the number of travelers may alter the tour cost.
- If the listed hotels are unavailable, similar-category hotels will be arranged.
- Some hotels provide only mattresses instead of extra beds or cots.
- Guests are advised to check hotel reviews and locations before confirming, as changes upon arrival may incur a retention fee.
- Extra bed/breakfast charges for kids, if not mentioned, must be paid directly to the hotel by guests.
- In Munnar, Thekkady, Ooty, and Kodaikanal, most rooms are non-A/C due to the colder climate unless specified otherwise.
- Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability, and extra charges may apply.
- For A/C Deluxe Houseboats, the A/C operates from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM in the bedroom.
- Houseboat check-in starts at 12:30 PM, and cruising ends at 5:00 PM per government regulations.
- Houseboats are categorized into Deluxe, Premium, and Luxury, with Premium and Luxury options available at an extra cost.
- Bookings are confirmed only after receiving advance payment, subject to hotel availability.
- A 2.5% extra charge applies for online credit card payments (bank charge).
- Eravikulam National Park in Munnar remains closed for 3 months during the Nilgiri Tahr breeding season.
- Periyar Wildlife boating tickets can be booked at www.periyarfoundation.online.
- Some sightseeing spots may be closed on certain days, and compensation is not provided for such closures.
- Travelonama Expeditions is not responsible for missed destinations due to strikes or roadblocks.
- There are no hidden charges, except for lunch, dinner (houseboat meals are included), and personal expenses.
- If additional money is requested during the trip, report it to Travelonama immediately.
- Any service issues should be reported to the Trip Advisor for immediate resolution.
Read Carefully before you book shared houseboat package
- Staying on a houseboat offers a cruise-like experience where you have a private room and can dine in a common restaurant-like area.
- The houseboat cruises, providing an opportunity to relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings from common areas, including the spacious upper deck, which is often used for dining.
- For a more economical option, Sharing Houseboats are available, offering private bedrooms on a larger boat with shared spaces.
- Houseboats have 6 to 11 bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom, ensuring privacy for each couple or family.
- This service is restricted to couples, ladies, and families. Bachelor groups are not allowed.
- Guests must remain inside their rooms after 10:30 PM for safety reasons.
- The meal plan starts with lunch and ends with breakfast, offering traditional Kerala cuisine in a vegetarian, non-buffet style.
